Jacques Delors, former European Commission President, once said that “without memory there can be no future”, a saying I totally agree with. This is true in history and economics, but it can also be applied to the apparently vane field that is fashion. It’s kind of funny reading to comments of people who think designers and celebrities can do something really fashion-forward. For any fashion-forward attempt there’s somebody who did it before. Fashion is just like history, a cycle of trends which keeps on coming back with minor changes.
