IN NEED OF VITAMIN C? HISAKAZU SHIMIZU’S GLASS FRUIT LAMPS!

These colored glass fruit lamps are part of a collection that also features fruit-shaped clocks and tableware. This product has been created and designed by Japanese Hisakazu Shimizu. Shimizu has managed to create wonderful lamps that are what we all wish could replace party favors. Along with co-work fellow Eizo Okada they have founded S&O design. This brand new company is based in Tokyo. Both designers are trained on product and have worked together on a number of projects and since 2008 have been developing limited edition pieces with a focus on expanding the art design market. Hisakazu Shimizu is the chief designer of Canon’s IXUS series of compact digital camera. Eizo Okada has been involved as a design director in the planning and development of numerous exhibitions and objects. Fruit lamps are fun, beautiful and innovative. Visually a wonderful huge bowl of candies, useful for light and good atmosphere. The universal beauty of juicy fruits. Yam!
