Oh yes, the new year will take us some good- gorgeous exhibitions: Man Ray Portraits, at the National Portrait Gallery, is one of the most expected here at The Harlow. From the 7th of February 2013 you will be able of visiting the first Ray’s major museum retrospective featuring over 150 vintage prints from his career in America and Paris taken between 1916 and 1968. The Surrealist artist and his Dada influences but also his revolutionary photographic technique such as solarisation and early experiments with color. James Joyce, Gertrude Stein, Jean Cocteau, Kiki de Montparnasse, Lee Miller, Pablo Picasso and Catherine Deneuve are only few of the gang.
“Of course, there will always be those who look only at technique, who ask ‘how’, while others of a more curious nature will ask ‘why’. Personally, I have always preferred inspiration to information.”
