UP IN THE AIR AND STAY THERE

Those are playful photographs showing figures that bend, twist into unknown positions. Images that show movements that transform the familiar into the unknown. Isabelle Wenzel, by Moritz Firchowlives and works in Amsterdam and portrays perfect acrobatic forms creating surreal and dynamic studies of human bodies in motion. In her series Figures, her female models appear as sculptures on a plinth, bent into strange shapes, cowering and hiding. The result is funny and thought provoking at the same time.
