F.LLI CERRUTI & LARDINI

Posted on June 28, 2012 by Marco Maggetto

F.lli Cerruti Woolen Mill has been operating since 1881. Founded in Biella, a “smart” village strategically situated between Torino and Milano, this prestigious company has been producing extremely high quality fabrics for the best fashion designers. Famous all over the world for their workmanship and artisan perfection, F.lli Cerruti ventured in the field of haute couture, prét-a-porter, diffusion lines and perfumes from the 50ies till the 80ies always guaranteeing a certain standard of quality and creativeness. Nino Cerruti, who has been responsible for “ferrying” the company along those years, is still guiding the family business with verve and devotion. A sparkling mind, a man always in search for new frontiers, Cerruti had organized “La tradizione, il valore, il bello”,  a significant exhibition  that was showed during White Milano Show, June 23rd-25th.

The idea was to symbolise Italian excellence throughout the world with a collaboration with Lardini, another brand synonymous of contemporary man’s elegance and style since 1978. The exhibition has been created along an original route through the places of the Woolen Mill giving visitors an opportunity to experience and savour those places where precious fabrics are created to arrive at the Lardini world where  14 historical jackets, all isnpired by the historical Cerrruti’s archives,  were on display. The fabrics used varied from the innovative parcour, a sportswear material ideal for trenches and coats, to untreated wool, suitable for modern clothes, comfortable and pleasant to touch, as far as the top collections involving the tailor fabrics par excellence. Parts of the jackets exposed, skilfully worked by hand, have been created exclusively. An event that had been capturing our attention we wanted to share with our readers.
